During WWII, the F4F served as one of the navy's premier aircraft. Offering a great climb rate, long patrol range, excellent ditching capabilities, and stamina needed forks rigorous work load. In all 4,777 of these planes were built. The F4F housed a 1200-hp Pratt & Whitney engine that produced a top speed of 318 mph. It carried six 12.7-mm Brownine machine-suns, and two 100 Ibs. bombs.
