At diecastairplane.com we have often asked the manufactuers of diecast planes to do some true HO scale civilian airplanes. So we are very happy to have this first ever true HO scale general avaition airplane.

Herpa Wings is setting a new standard. For the first airplane model in the popular 1/87 scale, or HO Model Railroad Scale, a Cessna 172 will now be released. With this, we bridge Herpa Wings with the Cars & Trucks-model series, which have been produced in that scale for a long time. The Cessna 172, also know as the Skyhawk, is the best-known airplane type in the general aviation field. It is a genuine bestseller. Since its “birth year” in 1957, over 40,000 examples have been sold. Further models in this scale are planned.
